Autoimmune Disease

Autoimmune diseases are traditionally treated with anti-inflammatory drugs designed to control symptoms. Intestinal permeability (leaky gut) has been associated with autoimmune disease. Leaky gut is treatable. Common blood tests may show a positive ANA, an early sign of autoimmune disease.  A positive ANA can be reversed in many cases to a negative status.

Many hypothyroid patients have positive thyroid antibodies (Hashimotos thyroiditis). The needed treatment includes all the causes for autoimmune disease. In some cases antibodies disappear with treatment and no more thyroid medicine is needed.
